This is the theme song commissioned William “Coin” Harvey in 1906. “Beautiful Monte Ne” was written by a Rogers local, Edward Wolfe, and copyrighted by Harvey
Monte Ne has a rich and colorful history for such a tiny spot in the road. Named by a very unique and eccentric man that was even more colorful. The Book and DVD about him are in the cottage. I named the back bedroom the Coin Harvey Bedroom, for the vision he had for this area. He brought the first tourist here by train and Italian Gondolas to stay at the worlds largest log building… Oklahoma Row And Missouri Row. The concrete remnants of Oklahoma Row and what remains of the Log Structure are on Highway 94 near Monte Ne Inn Chicken.
The Coin Harvey Bedroom is a small attempt to pay respect to his memory and what he built in his Monte Ne. I hope staying here will leave you with the memory of an interesting man and the magical draw of beautiful NW Arkansas! It will call you to return as it called Coin Harvey. It will call you to share this quaint serine place with others, as it did Coin, and as it has called to me. It gets into your heart and into your eyes and you long to return to the vision that Coin foresaw… that one day his work… his Monte Ne … would be covered up by water … this came true when the waters of Beaver Lake covered his dreams.
